Why go green?

Going Green can be considered an effective marketing tool for your business. It is not just a positive movement toward becoming an eco-friendly business, but it also sends the message of "doing the right thing" to your consumers and clientele.

What does going green mean for my business?

The best way to view Green is as a new technology. Even though Internet technology has existed since 1969, the World Wide Web did not come about until 1989, which in 1991 sparked the creation of the Internet as we know it now. The internet along with many other technological platforms such as the cell phone, CD (compact disc) and even fax machines were met with resistance and even ridiculed. Those companies who saw the big picture and took the necessary steps to position themselves into the path of these technological movements gained the recognition and financial benefits when the consumer accepted these new technological products and ideas. Green is the next evolution in the Information or Technology Age. Green is no more than using technology and ideas to produce or sustain a safer and environmentally friendly product or service that can replace the non-environmentally friendly or unsafe products currently being used today. Companies that embrace the move early on are the companies that will receive the rewards early on.

What do I need to do the start going Green?

If you are a business owner, here are a few simple steps that can help your business go green and give you a positive ROI (return on investment). 1. Reduce your energy cost (i.e. energy efficient light bulbs

2. Bring in Biodegradable products at an effective cost

3. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

Making some of these changes may cost your business a bit more money than your current procedures. The best way to capitalize on these extra expenses is to promote your change to Green to your customers and clientele. Promoting your business as a Green company can give you a much needed edge over your competitors. One thing we do caution is not to deceptively market or promote your company as Green without truly taking the necessary steps towards going Green. This practice is known as Green Washing and can negatively impact your business.
